A NOTE FROM JAN

Tav, after a day at the courthouse

For her second portrait, Aanyah wanted the balcony she had already imagined.

Aanyah came back for a second portrait of her character, Tav.

In her review, she describes the comfortable balcony she pictured Tav enjoying after a day at the courthouse. She wrote about its lived-in feel and how well Tav's personality came through.

I like that Aanyah already had this bit of Tav's day in mind. The balcony after the courthouse. She wanted a picture of that.

A picture can show a side of the character you enjoy imagining when the adventure is somewhere else.

It might be the way they sit when they're comfortable. A close portrait could catch the look they have when there's finally nothing they need to explain.

Tav's balcony was part of that particular commission. A custom setting is a separate add-on. A portrait focused on the face and upper body can still have a very particular expression.

If you already have a portrait that feels right, another one can sit beside it. Characters can have more than one good picture.
