the coin nobody can lose

Knock on Old Yost’s cart, then find the cursed copper that never lands your way.

Old Yost lost three coppers to a man called Tailspin last week. One of them was cursed, and Tailspin hasn’t won a call since. He sits at the corner table of the Hollow Stump, flipping it for drinks he never wins.

The Contrary Copper. Wondrous item, cursed. Whoever carries it loses every call and has disadvantage in any game of chance. Throw it in a river and it’s back in their pocket by morning. It’s always warm, like somebody just put it down.

Bet that you’ll lose and the coin has nowhere left to land. It stands on its edge, and from then on it’s an ordinary copper.

Old Yost still drives his cart down the back road to the Hollow Stump. Take your own character down that road.
